Commencement Information

It is that time again, we need to start gathering the information for our Spring 2015 Commencement. We have not been given the logistics yet, but I assume it will be at the Student Union Lawn like the previous semester. Please note that HOP 7.4.10 states the following:

1. All full-time faculty members shall be required to participate in at least one commencement ceremony per academic year.

2. If faculty members are unable to attend one commencement ceremony per year, they shall request permission from the appropriate dean to be absent from commencement.

Please let your appropriate Academic Department Liaison (Janie or Bertha) know if you will or will not be attending by tomorrow, Thursday, April 9^th.

TWS Training and Scoring

The Office of Field Experience  would like to invite faculty to participate in scoring the Spring 2015 Teacher Work Samples.

These documents are developed by our Student Teachers as demonstration of their understanding of the many aspects of being an effective educator in the 21^st Century. 

When:                    Wednesday, April 29, 2015

Location:               Salon Cassia (Main 2.402)

Schedule:              8:00-11:00 Validation Session (participants will read and discuss a TWS examples)

                              11:00-12:00 Lunch Break (Lunch will be provided)

   12:00-5:00   Reading and Scoring (Each TWS must be read by at least 

                            different scorers)

Please let me know so that we can email the Office of Field Experience if you will be participating in this event. We need to order lunches by Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
